Any regular readers of this site will know that I’m slightly biased when it comes to local gins, but here we are – another superb gin from the North West. This little beauty is Made in Zymurgorium’s micro distillery in Manchester, and it’s magical.

Why is Zymurgorium Sweet Violet Gin magical? Well it takes you straight back to your childhood.

It’s perfect for anyone with a sweet tooth. It tastes just like Parma Violets. It’s incredibly sweet and scented. If you’re not a fan of the sweets then this isn’t the gin for you, but if you love a Parma Violet then you’re going to need a bottle of theirs Sweet Violet Gin right away.

I drank Zymurgorium Sweet Violet Gin on it’s own with ice. It’s the perfect liqueur for sipping.  For an extra bit of sweetness (and if I’m honest, to make it look fancy on Instagram), I crushed up some Parma violets for the rim of the glass.

If you aren’t too keen on Sweet Violet Gin neat, just add some really good quality lemonade. It’s still beautifully sweet, but the intensity of the violet flavour is toned down.

My other half tried this and loved it, and he really does not like gin. So if you have any non gin lovers in your life, then you may just convert them with Zymurgorium’s Sweet Violet Gin.

You may think that around £25 is expensive for a 50cl bottle of a liqueur, but you won’t regret it. After all, it’s magical!

After a meal when entertaining. It went down a storm.

What I used as a garnish

nothing. Simply sip it on its own or add a few crushed Parma Violets to the rim of the glass if you’re feeling a bit fancy.

Is it with the money?

It’s worth every single penny. After trying this one, I’m definitely checking out the rest of the liqueurs in their range. You can buy it online here
